Kevin Sliwa -
Board President
Kevin is an Employee Benefits Consultant at Indianapolis based MJ Insurance. He quickly grew to become one of the agency’s top performers and was named one of the youngest partners in the firm’s history in June of 2011 at the age 30. He specializes in consulting with large privately held and publicly traded companies to ensure their employee benefit program initiatives support their overall business strategy. Kevin’s real passion is serving, with the purpose of helping his family and peers pursue their dreams by creating opportunities that energize, inspire, and motivate them do so. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, serving in Food 4 Souls, and skiing in the Rockies. Kevin currently resides in Fishers, IN with his wife and 3 daughters and attends Heartland Church.
Stefanie Jeffers - Board Member
Stefanie Jeffers is a graduate of Ball State University where she earned her degree in Legal Administration. Early in her career, Stefanie worked in local government offices. She then transitioned into a position as a paralegal, working in both family and personal injury law. Stefanie has a heart for justice and a passion to advocate for individuals who are disenfranchised by society. Stefanie is a founding member and Secretary for Food 4 Souls. She has worked with women experiencing commercial sexual exploitation since 2013 and is the founder and CEO of Grit Into Grace, Inc. Stefanie advocates on behalf of women silenced by sexual exploitation, working to assist them in acquiring recovery and mental health resources, housing, education, and daily resources needed for sustainable change. She also works with women in jail, building relationships during incarceration and continuing to advocate for them upon their release. Stefanie has had the opportunity to work alongside local and federal law enforcement agencies to identify victims of sex trafficking and women who are engaged in prostitution and provide victim’s services. Stefanie is the VP of Public Relations for White Stone Project, LLC. This position gives her a voice to speak passionately on the issues of sexual exploitation in its various forms and to raise awareness on these important topics. Stefanie has shared her story at women’s conferences across the country. She is the author of a blog titled Sex, Lies, and Jesus.
Arden Cohen -
Board Member
Arden is an Insurance and Risk management Veteran with over 35 years of experience. He joined the MJ team in 2001 as a Property Casualty Consultant. He focuses in developing and executing strategies to help reduce total cost of risk by working with clients to truly understand their business, goals, and objectives to develop risk management programs to help advance business progress. Arden is a student of the insurance industry holding the following designations: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and Associate In Management (AIM). Arden has been married 34 years, has two grown sons, and two grandchildren. He attends Brookville Road Community Church. When not working, he enjoys wilderness canoeing, alpine skiing, and golf.
Mike Makalusky -
Board Member
Mike possesses an extensive career in business development, sales, training, consulting and ministry having worked for several publicly traded corporations, privately held businesses and churches. He graduated from Villanova University and has a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Leadership from Denver Seminary. He has a passion for spiritual formation, leadership development, and for maximizing the effectiveness of organizations and teams. He has been married to the love of his life, Jenn, since 2000 and they have two great daughters, Riley and Maya. They currently reside in Fishers, IN.
Brian Pitkin -
Board Member
Brian E. Pitkin is a husband, father and businessman from Indianapolis, Indiana. He began his career in investment banking and private equity and has since owned, managed and sold companies in industries ranging from chemicals to construction. He now manages a private investment partnership through URI Capital Management for a select group of partners. The partnership, URI Capital Partners, is a long only, highly concentrated partnership that seeks long term outperformance by undertaking deep, fundamental analysis leading to a high conviction portfolio of business. Brian began his career in Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch in Chicago, and then joined The Edgewater Funds, a Chicago private equity firm. Brian ultimately returned to family-owned Ulrich Chemical, a Midwest chemical distributor where he helped accelerate both top and bottom-line growth, including a near tripling of the company’s bottom line. He then helped negotiate and execute the sale of Ulrich to Brenntag, a global chemical distributor, before founding URI Capital. Faith and family provide a strong foundation for the entirety of his life. Brian and his family belong to Heartland Church in Indianapolis. When not working, Brian enjoys spending time with family and friends in the mountains and on the water.
